Autumn

October 25, 2010

Inspired by Diana Lupu’s blog, I had to post my own inspiration finds for an autumn wedding.  Autumn marks the transition from summer into winter everywhere else in our beautiful country except for South Florida.  We still have HOT weather down here!  Even though I love the warm weather and believe you me, I am so grateful to live in paradise Miami Beach but when I see pictures like this ones, I can’t help but be a little jealous of the season changes.  Especially in autumn when the leaves change colors and the naked trees become breathtaking sceneries.

Autumn is also related to harvest, which makes it so appropriate to adorn with fruits, vegetables and grains that ripen at this time.  My favorite celebration in this season is Thanksgiving.  It not only unites families and friends but allows us to take the time to look at our life and be thankful for the MANY blessings we have received from above.

I would totally love to do a wedding inspired by this images if I had an autumn theme wedding.  You never know… it can still happen!  Interested… anyone?

10/27/10 – Oh… the growing pains of learning how to blog.  I posted this by mistake before it was completely finished so I had to go in and fix it a little!  🙂

Disney Princess

October 13, 2010

In honor of my Disney princess inspired bride, Jackie, I would like to share with you a little find that shows why a bride would have a vision and of course her dream of having a fairytale inspired wedding.  It has been a dream of hers since she was a very young girl.  Being the only girl in the midst of 4 boys, she knows what it is to be treated as a princess.  And that she is!
I can’t wait for the day when her love story will come to the part where it will read … and they lived happily ever after.
Disney Fairy Tale Weddings by Alfred Angelo.  The collectionn was inspired by Disney Princess characters: Ariel, Aurora, Belle, Cinderella, Jasmine, Snow White and Tiana.  Now your Disney Princess dream can come true!

Wedding Planning Seminar

October 11, 2010

Beauty in the making is hosting a Wedding Planning Seminar!  You get that?  I am super excited and nervous at the same time!  I am so blessed to partner with Morton’s The Steakhouse to provide a group of fortunate couples with great information on how to plan one of the MOST important days of their lives.

Yes!  Believe it or not, your wedding day is one of the 3 MOST important dates that will mark your life and you generations to come will remember those.  (1)  The day you are born.  (2)  The day you die.  (3)  The day you get married.
It is said that marriages are made in heaven and celebrated on earth.  The popular belief is true to many extend, because it is a special bond shared between two souls, who tie the wedding knot after promising to be companions for a lifetime.  It is the physical, mental and spiritual union of two souls.  It brings significant stability and substance to human relationships, which is otherwise incomplete.  It plays a crucial role in transferring the culture and civilization from one generation to the other, so that the human race is prospered.  The institution of marriage is beneficial to the society as a whole, because it is the foundation of the family, which in turn is the fundamental building block of the society.

The key to a successful marriage is love, understanding, mutual respect, trust, commitment and togetherness.  Happy Monday!

Happy 10/10/10

October 10, 2010

When I was about 12 I looked to this date and thought it that was millions of years away.  As a young girl I knew that life will be different today.  And it is.  Very different from growing up in the Barrio Cotto Mabu in Humacao, Puerto Rico.  I lived very humbly with my parents, my 3 sisters and 2 brothers.  We were a large family but that was common in Puerto Rico back then.  I had dreams and high expectations from life, especially from God.  I knew that He was watching over me and that He had a great future for my life.
The time came, at the age of 16, when I was able to leave my home behind and move to The Big Apple full of dreams and a desire to live life to the fullest.  Even though it seems like no to long ago, so much has happened.  I learned English, learned how to drive, had a boyfriend and broke his heart, went to college, worked as a taxi driver, got married and got divorce, move to Tampa, study computer accounting, dated, had my heart broken, move to South Beach, became a dancer, had my heart broken again, got a beeper, Studied acting, backpacked in Europe, learned how to dance Samba, Met Chayanne, gave my life to Jesus, congregated in Calvary Chapel Miami Beach, worked with some amazing entertainers, got a cellular, got engaged, got my heart broken again, Grew in the knowledge of Christ, worked as a GM presenter traveling through the United States, Travel some more through Europe, went to visit Julie in Japan, fellowship with the people in Calvary Miami and help translating the services into Spanish, visited Israel with my mom, work in sales, served tables and studied Wedding and Event Planning.
Through it all I laughed, cried, loved, not loved, liked, disliked, won, lost, succeeded, felt, hit it right on the nail, made mistakes, was humbled, had pride, dreamed, detoured, was thankful, have been ungrateful, have been loved, have been rejected, was right, was wrong, right, have sinned and am forgiven.
The best part of my journey is the amazing people that have brought so much beauty to my life.  I am still a work in process but I am so thankful for my life and just wanted you to know.  I am not where I thought I would be on 10/10/10 but I am excited to be alive and have and opportunity to celebrate this day and go at it again.  What are you grateful for?
Happy 10/10/10!

Be thankful that you don’t already have everything you desire.
If you did, what would there be to look forward to?
Be thankful when you don’t know everything,
for it gives you the opportunity to learn.
Be thankful for the difficult times.
During those times you grow.
Be thankful for your limitations,
because they give you opportunities for improvement.
Be thankful for each new challenge
because it will build your strength and character.
Be thankful for your mistakes.
They will teach you valuable lessons.
Be thankful when you’re tired and weary,
because it means you’ve made a difference.

Jerusalem July 2007

The Miami Beach wind was blowing at a speed that will not allow us to sweat.  Lourdes Dos Ramos and I have been working with paper to make our fanciful wedding fun and colorful.  Paper and wind are not a good combination but somehow it all worked together at the end.  Patricia and Carolyn arrived eager to get the shoot going while Talia and Frankie were ready to make it all come to life.  Aren’t they gorge… no I meant striking… what a couple!  Let me just add that Frankie is my cousin, so lucky that good looks runs somewhere in the family!  😉
The flower girl couldn’t be any sweeter and we had such a great blessing when our good friend Gill allowed us to use his fab vintage blue ford!  Here is a sneak peak… more pictures to come, so promises our out of this world photographer.
I got to deeply thank my right hand and best friend Ayo for doing such an amazing… I mean SPECTACULAR job!  You my friend do come trough!  Thank you, thank you THANK you!

Overwhelmed by Him!!!

October 6, 2010

Out of the blue she came to my mind and I called her.  Hello.  She answered.  Hi Candice, is Eileen!  You would not believe it, she replied.  I was just praying for you, for your business, your time, she continued.  See, I remembered how I was so consumed by it all and I don’t want the same to happen to you.  I was just praying you can find balance.  I was touched.  Deeply.  I knew the Almighty God was using her to encourage me.  Earlier that day I was questioning myself.  Am I over my head?  Can I really do this?
I am so excited to have her as a mentor during my journey through the wedding world.  Candice, until a year ago did exactly what I am doing, beautiful weddings for special people.  She has been there and done that. And she is willing to take me under her wings and guide me through it all.
That I would just pop on her beautiful head just when I am not so sure of how I am going to accomplish it all it’s just amazing!  It’s so good to know that He has my back.  He brings the right people in my life at the right time.  In my weakness, He is strong.  So cool that I can trust Him with my eyes closed.  His faithfulness overwhelms me!!!
A rainbow is a proof that God keeps His promises.  I got a double rainbow!  This picture was captured by my friend Claudia from my balcony and put together to the best of my abilities 🙂
