Save The Date With Style

November 30, 2010

Now a days with families and friends having a full schedule and some of them most likely will need to plan a long trip to assist your wedding or event, SAVE THE DATE has become very popular.  The announcement typically states the date of the wedding or event, so friends and family will know to keep that date available.  Generally, they are sent out between six months to a year ahead of time.

Save the date notification do not need to be formal, so go ahead be unique and let your personality show!  Be sure to send it to the people you want to attend for sure and not the “maybe’s”.  Save the date let’s you know that a formal invitation will follow.

It’s easy to make it fun and interactive by including trivia questions for destination weddings, places of interest in that city, possible hotels, maps, etc.

The latest trend has been to utilize the pictures from your engagement session.  Some couples have gotten really creative and used props with their wedding date on it for their photo shoot.  Also, if you have the equipment you may want to shoot a video to use as the Save The Date.  These are some of the coolest videos I have found Josh Dick & Julia Schwadron and Felicia Marie & Sean.  Be creative, fun and to the point!

Here are some fun examples of what others have done.

Disney Princess

October 13, 2010

In honor of my Disney princess inspired bride, Jackie, I would like to share with you a little find that shows why a bride would have a vision and of course her dream of having a fairytale inspired wedding.  It has been a dream of hers since she was a very young girl.  Being the only girl in the midst of 4 boys, she knows what it is to be treated as a princess.  And that she is!
I can’t wait for the day when her love story will come to the part where it will read … and they lived happily ever after.
Disney Fairy Tale Weddings by Alfred Angelo.  The collectionn was inspired by Disney Princess characters: Ariel, Aurora, Belle, Cinderella, Jasmine, Snow White and Tiana.  Now your Disney Princess dream can come true!

Wedding Planning Seminar

October 11, 2010

Beauty in the making is hosting a Wedding Planning Seminar!  You get that?  I am super excited and nervous at the same time!  I am so blessed to partner with Morton’s The Steakhouse to provide a group of fortunate couples with great information on how to plan one of the MOST important days of their lives.

Yes!  Believe it or not, your wedding day is one of the 3 MOST important dates that will mark your life and you generations to come will remember those.  (1)  The day you are born.  (2)  The day you die.  (3)  The day you get married.
It is said that marriages are made in heaven and celebrated on earth.  The popular belief is true to many extend, because it is a special bond shared between two souls, who tie the wedding knot after promising to be companions for a lifetime.  It is the physical, mental and spiritual union of two souls.  It brings significant stability and substance to human relationships, which is otherwise incomplete.  It plays a crucial role in transferring the culture and civilization from one generation to the other, so that the human race is prospered.  The institution of marriage is beneficial to the society as a whole, because it is the foundation of the family, which in turn is the fundamental building block of the society.

The key to a successful marriage is love, understanding, mutual respect, trust, commitment and togetherness.  Happy Monday!
The Miami Beach wind was blowing at a speed that will not allow us to sweat.  Lourdes Dos Ramos and I have been working with paper to make our fanciful wedding fun and colorful.  Paper and wind are not a good combination but somehow it all worked together at the end.  Patricia and Carolyn arrived eager to get the shoot going while Talia and Frankie were ready to make it all come to life.  Aren’t they gorge… no I meant striking… what a couple!  Let me just add that Frankie is my cousin, so lucky that good looks runs somewhere in the family!  😉
The flower girl couldn’t be any sweeter and we had such a great blessing when our good friend Gill allowed us to use his fab vintage blue ford!  Here is a sneak peak… more pictures to come, so promises our out of this world photographer.
I got to deeply thank my right hand and best friend Ayo for doing such an amazing… I mean SPECTACULAR job!  You my friend do come trough!  Thank you, thank you THANK you!

Today I am SUPER thankful that the talented Carolyn Jones invited me to work with her designing a beautiful Country shoot with the fabulous photographer Patricia Dash.  A very giving group of people came to my rescue to make things happen… when you are not with me my knees give out.  I am so honored to work with such an amazing group of people… the rest will follow… very soon…  YEEEHAW!!!

Yesterday, I found myself singing I am so excited… and I just can’t hide it… I’m about to lose control and I think I like it”, while dancing on one leg!  Lucky me, I was home alone with my blinds closed and my neighbors did not witness my outburst.  Yes, I sing and dance when I am very excited about something!!!

See, I have a vision and a dream to plan and design breathtaking weddings.  And my favorite ones are outdoors.  Little did I know, there is an AMAZING photographer in my neck of the woods and she is shooting just my type of weddings.  She has developed an incredible eye in such a short time in her career.  I just know, I found someone that speaks my language and understands what it takes to make it happen.  Her willingness to guide me with the experience she has gained is very humbling and overwhelming, my heart is filled with gratitude.

I found myself drooling over this stunning outdoor wedding inspirational shoot she put together with one striking couple and a breathtaking vintage theme.  This is not the typical gorgeous California wedding, but our very own South Florida Summer Garden Wedding and I am so inspired.  I simply can’t wait for the moment where photos like these will represent my work… and when that day comes, you can count on some dancing and out of tune singing involved.  Then, I could care less if my blinds are wide open.

The best thing about living in Florida is the outdoor lifestyle… we have some of the most beautiful sceneries.  Other than the hot summer days, our weather is perfect for any outdoor event and I adore garden weddings, in fact I am hoping that they will be my niche!!!
